SEO Enhancements

Click Yes to enable ExpressCurate SEO enhancements for your curated post.

How it works
Most of the blogs do already utilize an SEO plugin but some still don't. To prevent any incompatibility, overlapping or any other problems, SEO Enhancement modules are not enabled when ExpressCurate is installed. The features shall be enabled manually.

Note: SEO Enhancements include Description of SEO Control Center and the Advanced SEO for editing the post page, and the Sitemap feature.

Publisher (Google+)

You can link content you publish on this blog to your company/personal Google+ profile. More Info.

How it works
Google provides a possibility to link your Google+ profile or page to the blog/site you manage and own. The connection is done on both ends. The profile/page shall define it owns the site and the site shall confirm it. These settings enable that feature.

Note: This is one of the standard/recommended points to be done when Google+ is a part of your social media strategy.

Publisher (Twitter)

You can link content you publish on this blog to your company or personal Twitter profile. More Info.

How it works
Just like with Google+, Twitter too allows the site to tell who the author is.

This is one of the standard/recommended points to be done when Twitter is a part of your social media strategy.

Auto Hashtagging

Transform words starting with # into tags and add # to the words previously defined as tags.

How it works
With Twitter using hashtags has become quite popular, in time other social networks like Facebook and Pinterest started to use tags. Now it is possible in Wordpress too. With ExpressCurate you can use #hash to create a tag automatically. The only thing you do is to, simply, type your tags and sometimes use the # symbol. ExpressCurate then creates a tag and puts a link.

Sitemap update frequency

How often should the sitemap be updated?

The sitemap is the way how search engines find pages that may or may not be discovered. It is a good practice to list down all landing pages in a sitemap. Having that the posts will appear in SERPS they automatically become landing pages and therefore shall be included in sitemap.

Sitemaps are not fetched every hour or every day, but you never know when they will be fetched. So it is a good idea to update the sitemap on a regular basis. The decision shall be based on how often you publish a new post.

Note: Sitemap generation will require some time. Depending on the server the blog is hosted on, the hosting service and the package, it take an instant or a couple of seconds (it also depends on how many posts your blog has in general). So having frequent sitemap generations/update, you will slow down your site.

Include all new posts in sitemap

All new posts will be included in your sitemap if this option is enabled

All the posts, usually, are written to be visible, in the end it's the reason you write a post. But on some sites it may not be the target and it may be better for most of the posts and pages to not be visible in SERPS. If this is the case for your then choose OFF so that you don't include ALL posts in sitemap, but perform manual choice only.

Note: You can override this setting per post from Advanced Settings widget.

Include all new pages in sitemap?

All new pages will be included in your sitemap if this option is enabled.

How it works
See how it works for posts. In the end the page is nothing but a custom post type.

Sitemap manual priority value

Please select the priority for new posts in your sitemap

How it works
As the time goes by, your posts become less relevant. The page or post you just published (from your standing point of view) is the most relevant. The default priority (relevance) to be set for the newly published items is defined here.

Note: 1 means most relevant - high priority - recommended to be applied for new posts. 0.1 mean least relevant - low priority - recommended to be applied for old posts.

Sitemap default changefreq

Please select the sitemap changefreq value for your new posts

How it works
How often do you publish a new post. Tell search engines your site's update frequency. This will make sure they visit your site and index pages in time and increase the visibility.

Note: Choosing daily change frequency in case you update weekly will just slow down your server.

Sitemap archiving frequency

Please select the frequency of archiving old post definitions in the sitemap.

How it works
How quickly do posts that are published become outdated? If the blog is tracking some historical event and it's a long process then this "setting" becomes handy and valuable. Search engines must be notified that some posts are now less relevant or outdated compared to some others. But how frequent does the change happen? Define it here.

Submit sitemap automatically?

If this option is enabled, the sitemap will be submitted to webmaster tools of search engines automatically.

How it works
ExpressCurate can submit the generated sitemap to Google Search Console automatically. The only thing you need to do is verify that ExpressCurate can do so. Click on authorize button to give the permission.

Note: To reset/revoke the permission/authorization you will need to disable automatic submission first.

Sitemap submission frequency

How often should sitemap be submitted to search engines?

How it works
Depending on the sitemap update frequency you may need to adjust the submit frequency as well. The only thing that needs to be done is to define the intervals.
